OK, I am not a blogger since I haven't posted anything in a while. In my defense, I was busy studying for my NCE (national counselor exam) which was taken on December 16, 2011. I'm happy and thankful to report that I passed the 4 hour exam! With the exam and the holidays behind us, we've moved forward with IVF treatment. It's a new year and a new beginning for TTC (trying to conceive) again. Whether IVF is successful or not, we have no regrets and are thankful to have this as an option.
Our timeline:
Jan 11 - 0.2cc Lupron shots (thigh)
Jan 26 - Baseline blood work and ultrasound (IVF payment due)
Continue with Lupron and decrease dosage to 0.1cc
Start Repronex (buttock) and 75lk Follistim (stomach)
One time: J&L take 4 antibiotics to wipe out any problems
with cross contamination.
Jan 30 - 2nd blood work and ultrasound
Feb 6 - Egg retrieval
Feb 9 - Transfer
Feb 20 - Pregnant?
J has faithfully administered my shots and it's such a relief to not jab at myself. We're completely in this together! Praise...I'm not experiencing bad side-effects to the meds, just some headaches, which are bearable. The baseline ultrasound showed that we're ready to proceed with follicle stimulation to make eggs. The 3 shot regiment should last about 2 weeks until egg retrieval. The shots have ramped up and I need endurance. Praying for healthy eggs, protection from side-effects, and peace.
Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. Philippians 4:6-7
